Just a few days before the movie ‘Rangasthalam’ released, it also had to face a slight issue due to a particular word used in a song. The line goes ‘Gollabhama goru gilluthu unte…’ and this is from the chartbuster ‘‘Rangamma mangamma’. At that point, a certain community raised a protest that the word ‘Gollabhama’ is demeaning them.

At that point, logic director Sukumar stuck to his guns and maintained the context of using that word had nothing to do with a community and clarified Gollabhama refers to a grasshopper. Many thought the issue was closed by then but that didn’t happen. A spanner fell into the proceedings at the censor office during certification.

It is heard that the censor board members objected to the same word so the makers had to change it. That way, from ‘Gollabhama’ it became ‘Goruvanka’. One might find it hard to catch it in the flow of the song but then this is how particular few folks would be. Anyhow, the overwhelming response to the song makes up for everything.
