Gunturodu Tagline: Less Hot & Less Spicy!

Gunturodu Plot:

Kanna (Manchu Manoj), a happy-go-lucky guy with absolutely zero responsibilities is a person who won't tolerate any bad happening in his presence. He always involves in street fights and one such scenario; he gets into a rivalry with Seshu (Sampath Raj), a lawyer in Guntur who wanted to make his political entry. On the other side, Kanna falls in love with Amrutha (Pragya Jaiswal), and she happens to be Seshu's sister. The rest of the plot is all about Kanna winning his love and defeating Seshu.

Performances:

Rocking Star Manchu Manoj is rocking as usual with his performance in the film. Though his fans might enjoy him on screen, the others might be disappointed as there is nothing new from. What he did in some of his past films has been seen in Gunturodu as well. But he impressed with his screen presence this time in the latest movie.

Pragya Jaiswal who is waiting for a full-fledged commercial heroine role left a positive impression in this Gunturodu. She has given the best that she could give for this character. Pragya Jaiswal impressed with her looks and glamour. She does not have a great role in the movie.

The supporting actors like Rajendra Prasad, Sampath Raj and Rao Ramesh are good in the film. They played the given roles very well using all their experience, and such roles are not new to them. Kota Srinivasa Rao impressed in a short yet good role.

The comedy actors Pruthvi, Praveen, Shakalaka Shankar and Satya, shined in some notable roles in the film.

All the other actors are good in their limited roles and added strength to the casting department.

Analysis:

The film Gunturodu is like any other regular mass-masala-formulaic-commercial movie. Everything is routine in the movie. Gunturodu is an attempt to establish a precise mass image to Manchu Manoj and make him close to the B and C centres audiences. Manoj ultimately excels in the role Kanna. He is mass to the core and suited the role perfectly. The director was successful in registering the characters with the audiences. Every character has its identity and behaviour in the movie. But the director failed to build a proper screenplay for the story that revolves around these characters.

The first half of the film moves forward with ups and downs. The weak narration is a drawback. The first half could be given more special treatment so that it would appeal to the audiences in a better way. The interval fight is good. The entire plot has become predictable in the first half an hour of the movie. The second half of the movie picked up well. But it loses its pace once again in the second half. After the first thirty minutes of the second half, the film comes down, and the pretty standard climax ends the film. The high moment created in the second half was note carried forward. If it was taken properly, the film could have been a better one than what it was now.

The cinematography of the movie is okay. The drone shots were not shot properly. The editing of the movie is average. The background score is good, but more or less, it reminds us of the Sarrainodu BGM. The graphics shots could have been created with some perfection. The artwork is good. The fights are major highlights in the movie. The action episodes give some high moments for the fans. The production values are good.

Merits:

- Action Choreography
- Cinematography
- Dialogues
- Music

De-Merits:

- Screenplay
- Routine Story

Music:

The audio album composed by DJ Vasanth is good. But on the screen, some songs failed to make an impression. DJ Vasanth's effort in re-recording is appreciable. He gave one of the finest scores for the movie and elevated the film at the right points. The lyricists also did a good job by penning the perfect thoughts for all the songs in the right situations.

Others:

Mega Star Chiranjeevi's voice over is an asset for the movie. The fans will surely enjoy it.

Verdict:

Manchu Manoj and Pragya Jaiswal starring Gunturodu movie have nothing new to offer us. A new treatment has been given to an outdated concept, but it's too disappointing because of the pretty normal execution. Slow First half and good second half completes the movie. Gunturodu is good in parts and still can be avoided to welcome him on small screen. B and C centers audiences might like it watching for a single time.
