After being postponed for more than a couple of times, Oxygen finally hits the theaters today. Gopichand who is an established hero is undergoing this phase in his career in which he has to prove himself again. Let us see how 'Oxygen' supports him.
Raghupathi (Jagapathi Babu) is a well-doing businessman. His elder brother & nephew get killed by unidentified people. In this frame of context, he decides to marry off his daughter Sruthi (Raashi Khanna) to Krishna Prasad (Gopichand) and see her off to the US.
Krishna Prasad saves the entire family from the opponent's attack and warns the goon to withdraw these kinds of activities. Why those unidentified persons target Raghupathi family? How Krishna Prasad tackles the situation is the rest of the story.
Roles and Performances:
Gopichand: After a long time, Gopichand appeared on the big screen. He has done a good job in the role of Krishna Prasad. But, Gopichand in the second half is a mere surprise to the audience.
Raashi Khanna: Rashi Khanna looks beautiful and her screen presence can be witnessed throughout the movie. But, there isn't much scope for action.
Jagapathi Babu: Jaggu Bhai has justified to his role.
Anu Emmanuel: Seems Anu has given her best in the minimal role given to her.
All the other actors Ali, Brahmaji, Prabhakar(Kalakeya), Amit etc justified their roles well.
Must say that the choice of the story by Jyothi Krishna is good. Taking 'addiction' as the main line, the message he wanted to convey is to be appreciated. But, this movie fails to grab the attention of the audience. The movie is not convincingly made.
The first half is a routine story and the viewers get disconnected instantly. So, the vital point which is revealed in the second half is not established properly. But, the twist in the interval is well-potted. The second half is quite interesting, with good narration. Totally, the movie could have been better.
Chota K Naidu & Vetri's camera work is to be appreciated. Music by Yuvan Shankar is a huge let down.
+ Second Half
+ Interval Episode
Final Verdict: The viewer suffocates in the first half. Story wise good, making wise bad.
