Avg User Rating: 2.5/5

Natural Star Nani is having a successful streak at movies with 7 consecutive hits and now he is waiting for the result of his 8th film. On another hand, director Venu Sri Ram- who is doing a comeback in films as a director with this film MCA (Middle Class Abbayi). He badly needs a hit at this crucial juncture as his film career is totally depended on this film result.

Let’s see the review of MCA film here-

Story:

Brothers Rajeev Kanakala & Nani are very much attached to each other. After Rajeev getting married to Jyothi (Bhumika Chawla), Nani feels insecure regarding his relation with brother. This makes him hate his sister-in-law. However, things make him live along with his sister-in-law at Warangal. In the course of time, Nani falls in love with Chinni (Sai Pallavi).

Here comes the villain Vijay Varma (Warangal Shiva) into the picture. Warangal Shiva gets badly affected in his illegal transport business in the form of Jyothi (a strict RTO). Shiva plans to eliminate Jyothi to regain his lost image in Warangal. At this juncture, how Nani becomes a savior for her is the rest of the story.

Actors & Performances:

Nani: Being a Natural Star himself pulled this Middle-Class Abbayi role with so much ease. He became the sole reason to watch this flick.

Sai Pallavi: If you want to to see something like Bhanumathi of Fidaa in this flick then you would get disappointed. She portrayed a regular commercial heroine role in this flick and he gave her best to the role.

Bhumika Chawla: She is the second best & key role in this movie after Nani. Her comeback to the screen was very much justified and her acting is at top notch.

Vijay Varma: He portrayed the Villainy in this flick. He tried his best.

Other Cast like- Priyadarshi, Rajeev Kanakala, Naresh & Aamani got very much brief roles & screen presence as well.

Analysis:

Director Sriram Venu played a safe game this time as compared to his last directorial venture (Oh My Friend). In MCA (Middle-Class Abbayi), he incorporated middle-class lifestyle setup into the regular commercial film. He tried to showcase the middle-class lifestyle through Nani’s characterization.

He became successful in engaging the crowd for the first half by showing the tussle between Nani-Bhumika. At the same time, he catered love scenes to the youth by writing some nice love scenes between Nani & Sai Pallavi.

However, the graph comes down in the second half. The regular intelligence game between protagonist & antagonist comes into the picture. Director tried to establish some scenes of hero’s photographic memory in the first half and he implements that special talent in the second half.

We can’t get a great stuff from the second half expect a small spark kind of twist in the pre-interval episode. Writing in the second half becomes a hurdle for this film. Most importantly the strong impact of the villain is missing.

Technical Aspects:

Cinematography by Sameer Reddy stands out as the best in the technical aspects. DSP songs are good to watch onscreen as compared to listening to them. Here credit goes to Camera department once again.

Plus Points:

+ Nani

+ Bhumika
+ First Half

Minus Points

- Second Half

- Villain
- BGM

Final Verdict:

Nani’s Middle-Class Abbayi turns out to a Middle-Level Film.
