Ace director Puri Jagannadh is one of the top directors in the Telugu film industry for the past two decades. And he also has been one among the first choices for the top heroes in the industry. However, the things got changed and currently, he is fighting back to regain his slot in the film industry.

At this juncture, his latest film Mehbooba grabbed the headlines as the teasers & trailer looks promising. Debutant lead couple Aakash & Neha Shetty is spreading out the positive breeze regarding the film with their looks & screen presence.

On this note, we need to see whether Puri gives a good launching pad to his son with Mehbooba? And at the same time, he would break the flop jink of him with this Mehbooba or not?

These are the above things will be discussed in the following Mehbooba review.

Story:

Roshan (Akash Puri)- an Engineering graduate who is an ardent admirer of Indian military and wants to be a part of it. At the same time, he has been haunting by the dreams of his past life since his childhood and it is also a major reason behind his ambition to join the Army.

On the other side, Afreen (Neha Shetty)- a girl from Lahore comes to Hyderabad (India) on the purpose of a student exchange program. Here, she happens to meet Roshan and it makes the Roshan’s memories to recollect his past life. At the same time, she gets separated from him and leaves to Lahore.

At this juncture, Will Roshan meet Afreen? Is she able to recollect her past life with Roshan? What will be the ending of this incarnation love story?

These are the questions will be unfolded on silver screen.

Actors & Performances:

Akash Puri: He is good at dialogue delivery and his base voice also a blessing to his acting career. He did his best to the requirements of the role.

Neha Shetty: Neha has a very good screen presence in the movie. Even her acting skills are also very nice and hope she gets some good offers in the future.

Other actors like Murli Sharma & Vishu Reddy gave their best to the roles.

Analysis:

Reincarnation concept gave many memorable hits to our Telugu film industry and it has been the concept where many heroes used to prove their acting skills in doing them. Well, ace writer-director Puri Jagannadh is intelligent enough to pick this concept for the launching movie of his son.

However, the fruitful result got diluted as writer Puri Jagannadh failed in the writing department and it leads to the damage in the direction department as well. Mehbooba’s first half is drafted in a decent manner with some Puri’s mark dialogues here and there. Despite that, the film’s screenplay lacks that fast pace to involve the audience in the movie.

Coming to the second half, it is a total misfire from Puri Jagannadh. He needs to take the responsibility of writing this loosely-knitted script with logic-less scenes and visuals. The major drawback in the script is establishing the logic of travelling from India to Pakistan and vice-versa.

Technical Aspects:

The Cinematography is good. Lyrics are suited well to the tunes and BGM in some scenes are decent.

VFX scenes are average. Puri Connects production values are grand.

Plus Points:

+ Locations
+ War Episodes
+ Dialogues

Minus Points:

- Screenplay
- Second Half

Verdict: Puri Disappoints...
