Our Telugu cinema has had many Superstars and fortunately in this male dominated industry, we had few Lady Superstars as well.
They have in fact pulled crowds to the theatres like their male counterparts and inspired many to think, act and make many heroine-oriented films. Sweety Shetty alias Anushka belongs to this rare breed of stars, we fondly regard as Lady Superstars.
Kicking off her career as a glam doll, she eventually kept grabbing meaty roles in films and with Arundhati, her stardom took off to new heights. She has become the new care of address for powerful roles and filmmakers kept etching such special roles for her. Panchakshari, Nagavalli, Vedam, Varna and now Rudhramadevi & Size Zero are a few to testify.
Above all, Rudhramadevi is an epic film based on the historic character Rudhramadevi of the Kakatiya dynasty. And it is not an exaggeration that director Gunasekhar could think of anyone else for this title role (Well, does he have a better option is the real question!). Right from the sheer stature to the elegance, Anushka has it all.
Keeping this aside, we know the career of heroines is short-lived and in such circumstances, Anushka gave a commitment to two historic projects of Telugu cinema – Rudhramadevi & Baahubali which have taken almost 2 long years to complete. But all her dextrous efforts paid off at the Rudhramadevi 3D Trailer launch event this Feb 28 at the Prasad IMAX. All those who watched the trailer sang praises for Anushka. Her sheer presence and poise have swept everyone off their feet – truly class apart!
Rudhramadevi 3D trailer will be on You Tube in about a week. Rudhramadevi movie is slated for release this month end and within one month’s time, Baahubali will also release. Rudhramadevi & Devasena are all set to rock the world!
