OM 3D
Posted On 28 Dec 2013 - 04:51 AM

Certain films create so much of buzz with extraordinary visuals, editing and presentation style during the teasers and horribly bounce back when the actual film releases. What would happen if such film is one of the first action 3D films in India ever? The expectations skyrocketed when Om 3D’s trailer was released during the third quarter of the year 2013. Shot in 5K resolution for great visuals, Avatar fame David Taylor and Amazing Spiderman Fame Ian Markus worked for this project. Things were optimistic when even South Indian Superstar Rajnikanth watched the pre run of the film and appreciated Kalyan Ram for the effort. But when the film was released, it turned out to be a disaster!

Why is it so?

Great visual impact films like Avatar, Jurassic Park and so on remained evergreen not for the visual effects or CGI but for the strong story line and memorable characters they have. Om 3D failed in the characterization and story department which made it fall out terribly. It turned out to a great example for the fact that- If a film has great story and strong characterizations, visual effects are not mandatory but it is not vice versa. With poor storyline being projected in the midst of graphics, the film looked as if there is no content at all- making the audience restless.
IQlikmovies.com calls Om 3D ‘Disaster of the year’ because of usage of pointless graphics without strong storyline and characterizations.
