We witnessed intense Elections sequence political based movies like Leader are quite successful at box office. However things shifted from reel to real in the MAA Elections which were happened in March-April of 2015.
This election showcased the loop holes in the film industry and mainly personal allegations were passed on each other turned the situation even worse. Senior actors Rajendra Prasad & Jayasudha contested for the presidential post of MAA (Movie Artists Association) and this election has become the hot topic for the people of two Telugu states.
Interestingly an artist named O. Kalyan approached court to stop the elections and also alleged the whole election process is happening in an irregular manner. On this aspect, court intervened into this matter and withheld the counting for two weeks after polling. Finally after a lot of twists and turns, veteran actor Rajendra Prasad emerged victorious over his opponent Jayasudha with a margin of 85 votes.
On the flip side, out of 702 votes only 394 casted their votes in this election. In the end, Artists’ reputation has gone bad with their personal comments on each other and also with their shocking behavior. Interestingly, Nadigar Sangam (Tamil actors association) elections were also recently undergone in similar fashion with lot of controversies.
