Mahesh Babu to work in his father’s comeback film

Mahesh Babu’s father superstar actor Krishna is all set to make a comeback in the upcoming film Sri Sri and his own son Mahesh Babu has joined the film as a voice over artist. The film is about a common man who tries to follow the values and teachings of Telugu lyricist and poet Srirangam Srinivasarao in his daily life. Muppalaneni who is the director of the film stated that it was Mahesh Babu’s idea to take up the role of a voice-over artiste as he wanted to be a part of the film that would mark his father’s comeback.

No cameo, only voice-over.

It had been rumored online recently that the actor would also take up a cameo role in the film. The director however stated that there is no reason to believe that Mahesh Babu will also appear in the film as a cameo. “There have been so such talks between him and the producers of the film and these are just false rumors”, he said.3 fans of mahesh babu killed
The film Sri Sri also stars Krishna’s wife Vijaya Nirmala and her son actor Naresh as key characters. Mahesh Babu himself is a big time star in the Telugu film industry and is known all over the nation not only for his acting but for his philanthropic activities and role as a producer as well and has won numerous accolades and awards in his career for various remarkable works like Okkadu, Pokiri, Murari , Dookudu, Srimanthudu etc. He is also known for donating thirty percent of his annual income for charity and for being a part of MARD – Men against Rape and Discrimination which was a campaign by Farhan Akhtar. He is married to actress Namrata Shirodkar who was his co-star in Vamsi way back in 2002.

Krishna’s legacy

Krishna has been one of the most famous stars of the Telugu film industry and has worked in more than three hundred and fifty films in his career that has spanned over fifty years. His last work was however three years ago when he appeared in Aadi’s film Sukumarudu in a supporting role in 2013. He is a recipient of Padma Bhushan, which is one of the highest civilian honors in India. He was also awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South in 1997. After starting with minor roles in the early sixties, Krishna rose to stardom with male lead roles in multiple blockbuster hits during the seventies. His film Mosagallaku Mosagadu is known for introducing the cowboy or western genre in South Indian films. Pandanti Kapuram, Donkalaku Donga, Ram Robert, Rahim and Alluri Seetharama Raju are also famous films by him. He is also one of the biggest producers down south and with his long time friend and current wife Vijaya Nirmala he had opened up Vijaya Krishna movies that gave the Telugu audience some critically acclaimed movies like Devadasu and Meena. During his peak years, he shared a fierce competition with N.T. Rama Rao that strained their relationship greatly.
