Movie Review Okka Ammayi Thappa

Movie experts say that Okka Ammayi Thappa has been entirely different from the traditional commercial films. Hard core promotion has also been done to ensure that the movie becomes a grand success at the box office. The film, which had been scheduled to be released on the 10th day of June, 2016, has been inviting praise and appreciation from viewers.

Cast

The film has been featured on Sundeep Kishan and Nithya Menen. The director of the film is Rajasimha Tadinada, whereas the producer is Anji Reddy. The music direction of the film has been undertaken by Mickey J Meyer.

Plot of the movie

The story surrounds around Krishna Vachan (played by Sundeep Kishan), who is in search of his childhood love interest Mango (played by Nithya Menen). Stuck up in a traffic jam one day, Vachan comes across Mango. He starts flirting with the girl eventually, without recognising that the girl, whom he was looking for, was she herself.

All of a sudden, Krishna receives a mysterious phone call from Anwar (played by Ravi Kissan). He is instructed to ignite the bomb that has been planted below the flyover, where the jam had taken place. Anwar had been the root to the cause of the traffic jam. Krishna is also threatened that if he does not do what is told, then his love shall be killed

What is to be done by Krishna now? How is he to save so many people, who are too stuck up at the traffic jam just like him? How is to save the love of his life at the same time?

These questions have their answers in the later parts of the movie. Movie Review Okka Ammayi Thappa

Thumbs up

The story is quite interestingly woven. The scene of the jam that took place at the flyover has also been done very well. The protagonist of the film, Sundeep Kishan, has succeeded to keep all eyes on him. His acting has actually highlighted the strengths of the film as a whole. The climax has been shot in an extremely splendid manner. The final 20 minutes of the film have been quite interestingly put forward. The timings of the dialogues, as well as the suspense that lingered throughout the film had been beautifully captured. The chemistry between the protagonist and his love has also been beautifully etched. The cameo by Pruthivi has been performed well.

Thumbs down

The narration has marred the overall appearance of the film. The first half of the film is not up to the mark. Clarity and logic, both have a taken a backseat in the entire film. Comedy, romance and other elements, which could have been infused in the film appropriately, did not work much to save the movie. Ali’s comedy has irritated the audience at a large scale. Nithya Menen only has to look good on screen. She has not much to do anything significant in the film.

Technical matters

Camerawork by Chota K Naidu has been done in a very witty manner. The screenplay and direction needed to be taken care of big time.

Verdict

Okka Ammayi Thappa could be a movie that would stir the minds of the audience. Nevertheless, it failed to do so. However, given its soggy first half, you are expected to like this film as the interval shots in.
