Kabali Box Office Records Continues

The Tamil superstar and icon, Rajinikanth have shattered all the previous box office records of the Indian cinema with his latest release, “Kabali”. The movie has pulled in around Rs. 53.6 crore in the opening day beating the Salman Khan starrer, “Sultan”. In fact, Kabali has become the all time biggest opener of any Indian movie at the worldwide box office. Kabali collects new box office records benchmark in its first weekend by collecting around Rs 212.20 Cr (Gross) and Rs 125 Cr (Share).

Bahubali was the last movie released in Tamil, Telegu and Hindi, that smashed the box office records, but now it is Kabali that has surpassed the net income collected in the first few days of any Indian movie released till date. Despite getting mixed reviews from the film critics, the fans didn’t stop going to the movie halls and theatres to watch the movie.

Overseas revenue collection is huge

This is Rajinikanth’s third costliest movie, with a budget of Rs. 110 crore, after Robot, which was Rs. 200 Crore and Kochadaiiyaan with Rs. 125 crore. The movie got released in 10000 screens, with 6000 in the global market. The Telugu and the Tamil versions of the movie have generated around 13 crore in the US and Canada market and has also emerged as number in Malaysia, taking into account the first day collection.

The Hindi dubbed version has generated high revenue

According to the sources, it is said that the Hindi version of the movie has been able to make Rs. 5.2 crore on the opening day, leaving behind, Baahubali’s first day collection of Rs. 5 crore. In comparison to Baahubali’s 1500 screens, the Hindi version of Kabali was released in 1000 screens. But, it is the magic of Mr. Rajinikanth, that the collection of Kabali has surpassed all previous records.

The 200 crore club movie

Combining the collections from Hindi, Tamil and Telegu versions, the movie has touched the 200 crore club within the three days since the movie released. The movie tickets were flying out like hot cakes both at offline and online counters. During the weekend, the tickets got sold out within hours and Chennai and Hyderabad were calculated to be booking the majority of the movie tickets.

How much will the movie earn?

According to the experts, the movie has successfully collected such a huge amount of revenue in the very first week because of the hype that was created about the movie during the promotions. Now, it is to be witnessed how the movie performs from Monday onwards. There are a few sections of the industry experts, who are anticipating that Kabali will touch 300 crore by the end of the coming week.
