It is very unlikely that these days sons and daughters will pick up the same career path as their parents. Though their parents’ jobs were interesting or even their parents were extremely successful in their field it is still difficult to get into that same field. This happens for two reasons. One, children have to better their parents’ names and second reason is that without the necessary skill no matter how much influence their parents had the children wouldn’t shine the same way. In a way that is punch on the face for the parents.
Something similar happened in the Tollywood movie industry. If we closely see how Chiranjeevi’s family fanned out into actors of varying capacities and excelling at their work, it is just remarkable to be that successful. Starting with his brothers, ninety percent of his family is into movie industry and more than 70 percent of them are already established and had their fame.
What surprises the audience is that the new kid in the block Kalyan Dev, son in law of Chiranjeevi entering into the movie industry for his debut. Before Kalyan Dev entered the Chiru family, he was an industrialist, although much has never been said in that regard. In 2016 when he married Chiranjeevi’s youngest daughter Sreeja, he decided to build his career in acting. This must have been an interesting career alternative for Kalyan Dev. However, his director and producers are very confident on Dev’s acting skills.
The movie is bankrolled by Sai Korrapatti, the same producer of Eega, a very famous Telugu movie directed by SS Rajamouli. He says that Kalyan Dev was casted into the movie even before the casting director knew about his heritage. He also says that there is no better fit than Kalyan for this role. Those are very encouraging words for the young actor Kalyan.
No doubt Chiranjeevi’s family members who sought their career as acting have always made some buzz with their acting skills, Kalyan’s true performance is yet to be critiqued. Since this is his first real movie, we will not be so sure as to how entertaining this movie will be. Though the director and producers seem to like the young hero very much, there is still that first-time experience for the actor when compared to the other popular actors. Though that is no reason to judge the film, but it is also a fact to be considered.
His father in law, Mega star Chiranjeevi, told that no actor can truly excel without putting the personal bit of hard work. He also said the no matter how influential an actor’s family members can be, he/she can’t please the audience if they don’t posses the skill. That is hundred percent true and every actor’s work is a form of art and everyone has to respect it, regardless of the experience. Though with experience the skill level increases, the respect must be shown.
Finally, the film is under shooting now. With Malavika Nair playing the female lead and Rakesh Shashi scripting and directing the movie. The film is most likely to be released in this year itself and many mega start fans would be thrilled to see one more talent coming from his family!
