The #MeToo movement started by American social activist Tarana Burke against harassment of women has had widespread response from all over the world. This movement saw several leading personalities in India too coming out to speak against the assailants. The recent allegations by Tanushree Dutta against Nana Patekar have brought the movement into limelight. Several actresses such as Samantha Akkineni, Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari have come forward in support of the movement. Actress Pooja Hedge also came out in support of the movement and also gave her comments on the issue in an interview.
Pooja Hegde Comments on #MeToo movement
Pooja Hegde had the opinion that the #MeToo movement that the movement is much larger than a single person or a single girl. She said that so many women were coming out with their stories and that she hopes that the industry shall take a stand and would contribute in making it safer for women. She also added that she hoped that the movement brought about a change in the way the government was running and that there were some changes that take place in the field of women safety. She also appealed to the men asking them to contribute to this in making it a safer environment for the women.
The actress has been a part of the Telegu movie Aravinda Sametha which has collected 100cr in the first three days and is running successfully across around 2000 theatres around the world. She was also seen in the Hindi movie Mohenjo-Daro starring Hrithik Roshan. She is currently working along with Akshay kumar in the movie Housefull 4. It is also to be noted that Nana Patekar is also a part of the movie.

The actress who celebrated her birthday on the 13th of October also posted a picture of her cutting the cake and in the caption, she thanked her followers and fans for all the love and said that she was blessed and filled with gratitude. The actress says that she was humbled and honoured and that the fact that 4 million people were showering their love on her was touching and encouraging. She said that she believes that her fun, goofy and forever excited side seems to connect with the people. She also said that she is reciprocating by sending her love to all of the people. The actress had been working on her movie Aravinda Sametha which was released on October 11 and is a blockbuster, shooting for Housefull 4 and also working on a movie along with Prabhas. The actress says she wants to absorb and learn everything and that this schedule is also changing her as a person. She wants her work to speak for her.
