Bollywood heartthrob Alia Bhatt is all set to make her debut in the south with the movie ‘RRR’. Even though the actress had reportedly got several offers earlier but all things did not fall in place until now where she will be playing the lead role opposite Ram Charan Teja.
The Movie:
The film portrays the story of the freedom fighter Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem which are played by Ram Charan and NTR respectively. The story is set in the timeline of the 1920’s.
The movie does have an array of actors in it. The two lead roles are played by Ram Charan and NTR. Ajay Devgn will also be playing an extended cameo in the movie. The British actress Daisy edgar Jones will also be seen in the movie. Samuthirakani , the Kollywood actor will also be seen playing a major role. The role of Seetha, a mentally strong woman will be played by Alia Bhatt. Jr NTR will be seen playing the role of Komaran Bheem.
MM Keeravani will be composing the tunes for the movie. The movie is being bankrolled by DVV Dhanayya . The budget of the movie is estimated to be around 400 crores. Rajamouli has co-written the film with his father K. V. Vijayendra Prasad. The filmmakers had done a large amount of research for understanding the the lifestyle and the culture of India in the 1920’s.
The roping in of Alia Bhatt for the movie is also an incident to be noted. The director SS Rajamouli said that he had met the actress at the airport when he was travelling to someplace. It was there that he spoke to her about his interest in casting her for the movie. The actress was also glad to be a part of the movie and thus is all happened.
The character played by Alia is named Seetha. It will be an extremely strong character and Rajamouli believes that playing the character will do justice to the talent that Alia Bhatt has.
The official twitter page for the movie RRR announced its welcome for the actress and said that they were glad to have Alia in their team. The tweet also wished Alia advanced birthday wishes and also said that they hope Alia will have a wonderful journey with the team. Alia also replied to the tweet mentioning her happiness on being able to join the film. She also told that working with Rajamoulli will be a big tick off her bucket list.
Alia is currently working on the promotions of her movie Kalank which stars alongside her actors Varun Dhawan, Aditya roy Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha.
The shooting for the movie is currently ongoing and the director has taken an abandoned factory in Hyderabad to recreate a 1920’s jai; setup inside it. Even though the movie is all in the news, it is still a long time for the release of the movie which is expected to be around July 30 2020.The movie is expected to release in several languages.
