There are few phenomenal films in the Telugu film industry, which pulled audiences to the theatres not just once or twice but n number of times. Those films were also remade, not in any other language but Telugu, making history repeat itself.

Generally we see many good films getting remade from one language to the other, but we love to watch the same subject again when remade with great cast and crew. The then biggest blockbuster Mayabazaar was first made in 1936, much before NTR’s Mayabazaar which we know. People watched the same story again in 1957, when the second Mayabazaar released. It had great star cast like NTR , ANR, Savithri, S.V. Rangarao, and not to miss his song Vivahabojanambu! Both the Mayabazaars were well received and appreciated, the former in 1936 being a silver jubilee. Adding to the above two classics, one more Maya Bazaar by renowned filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao in 1995 and another Maya Bazaar by yet another contemporary director Indraganti Mohana Krishna were made later carrying only the title but different stories respectively.

Similarly, the film Bheeshma was first made in 1944, which was later remade in 1962 with  NTR playing the title role. The first Bheeshma was directed by Chitrapu Narayana Murthy with Jandhyala Gaurinatha Sastry in the title role. Joining the list is one more film called Yogi Vemana. It was first made in 1947, which was later remade in the 80s.

All the three films Mayabazaar, Bheeshma, Yogi Vemana were made and remade in Telugu, watched and re-watched by the Telugu auidence, making such things possible only for Tollywood.
