The Killer Movie!

That was in 1973, when people got horrified, just by the name of a movie. That movie gave heart attacks to many and left few others mentally ill and physically numb. It’s till date, one of the top horror flicks ever, The Exorcist. This movie had 20 reels when released and many people were horror-struck, with constant fear haunting them. Later it was trimmed to just 7 reels and got released in the major cities of our country. Even here, the film got the same response as horror has no linguistic barriers. Fear and terror lasted for too long in some people’s lives, leading them to a panic stricken death. Strange, but true in the case of few faint-hearted people. Such filmmakers simply don’t warn people before buying tickets. People with weak minds, pregnant women and old people are warned by the filmmakers themselves, to stay away from such movies or the result could be as adverse as this.

Even after all this chaos about the movie, director Ravikanth Nagaich of Bollywood remade The Exorcist as Jaadu tona, which was banned by the government in the first two months of its release. For that matter, The Exorcist was also banned in India during those two months. But, today with the advancement of technology, we have been experiencing heavy doses of horror. Also, for a better view of visual effects, we don’t mind wearing 3D glasses too! May be we have realized when life itself has many horrifying experiences in store, a movie is just one among those.
