Racha story at a glance
Raj alias 'Betting Raj' (Ram Charan) lives in a small 'basti' in Hyderabad. He is a kind of youth who is always ready to risk his life to win a bet. To save his father's life, Ram bets with James (Ajmal) to trap Chaitra (Tamanna), daughter of mining king Bellary (Mukesh Rishi) to in love with him. Raj gets introduced to her as a dance master and tries to impress her. The rest of the story is all about what twists and turns, he had to face.

Racha perhaps is the only movie of Ram Charan which did not carry any expectations even from fans. The movie was a regular mass masala but the timing of its release was perfect. With no competition at the box office, the movie milked more than 40 Crores share and went on to become one of the biggest hits. -

Sidelights
Tamil director Dharani and Ram Charan paired up for a movie titled Merupu under Mega Super Good films (Pvt.) Ltd. A song was shot in Chennai on Charan and Kajal. But the movie was shelved due to high budget estimations and poor script. Charan did Rachcha with the same producer to honor his commitment.
