Experience is very valuable. People equipped with it know very well which path is glorious and which one is filled with obstacles. They may not be able to compete with current day film makers, or have an attitude to understand technology very well, and have little arrogance which comes with age and continuing to make a film following old ways- But they know how to make a film which can be liked and appreciated by audience. This fact has been proved right many times in the past. Now, they are once again back in the directional arena and talking out loud in the megaphone. Looking further into those details..
Dasari Narayana Rao reached the milestone of 150 films. In a span of 80 years of Telugu Cinema journey, his tenure was for fifty years! He created many talented film people who admiringly call him Guruvugaru and proved that he is one and only Dasari Narayana Rao. Parama Veera Chakra was his 150th film and he took a short break after that film. But now, he is getting busy with a series of film projects in hand. Vaddi kasula vaadu ‘s film began recently but due to coal scam which stuck the director, it was kept aside for some time. The film is going to resume shooting quite shortly and he is planning out a film with Manchu Vishnu as well.
Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is a great example of experimental cinema. His enormous talent is evident in films like Pushpaka Vimanam, Vichitra Sodarulu and Aditya 369. Dasari praised him once saying that he has a vision of 15 years ahead of time in making a film.  Such a legendary director is back now with Welcome Obama. Even at the age of 80 years, he is not only active but also composed music for the film. The film is based on surrogate mother concept and we have to wait and see whether the film carries the Singeetham mark. B.Gopal, who gave some great hits to heroes like Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi is once again back into direction. He is making a Romantic Entertainer with Gopichand and Nayanatara in the lead and the shooting is commencing currently in Switzerland. We need to wait and see how he makes a love story at this age!
Though he doesn’t match the grandeur of Jandhyala, Relangi Narasimha Rao proved himself to be a great comedy director with his own mark. It has been a while since he made a film. After a long hiatus, he is going to make a film named Locker lo Ammailu, Lock Up lo Abbailu produced by Dasari Narayana Rao. Tammareddy Bharadwaj is also going to make a film after a long time with Charmi in the lead role.
These senior directors are making films competing with current day directors with equal ease. If their experience is blended with advanced technology awareness, their films will be sure shot hits. Let us wait for that wonderful day..
