India is a land blessed with many religions but there are two additional religions - Cricket and Cinema.

It’s not an exaggeration to say we don’t want to see a day where there is a cricket match as well as the movie release. It’s a hard choice to pick but given the situation, we naturally tend to prefer cricket over cinema. Many movie releases have been affected in the past and that is why, movie makers take the essential measures to release their movies with respect to cricket schedule, especially in the world cup season.

A similar situation arose now and affected a movie’s release as well. Going into the details, India takes on West Indies in a world cup cricket match this March 6 and Varaahi Chalana Chitra’s Tungabhadra movie was initially scheduled to release the same day.

The movie was made on a budget of around Rs 8-9 crores and if it should recover profits, it should manage to pull in crowds with mouth publicity alone.
