The bubbly and cute Punjabi beauty Rakul Preet has been ruling Tollywood now with her back to back film chances opposite all young heroes in the tinsel town. She showed her acting prowess in her first film Venkatadri Express itself and with the success of Loukyam, she became a golden girl for Telugu films! She is now having back to back projects lined up in which Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee is all set for release! The bubbly actress is celebrating her birthday today and here is an iQlik exclusive chitchat with her:

Hello Rakul.. Happy Birthday!
Hi... thanks a lot!

How are you celebrating your birthday this time?
I am going to be busy with promotions of Bruce Lee and that itself is a great way to celebrate!

You look quite glamorous in Bruce Lee. What is the secret behind that?
All the credit goes to my director Srinu Vaitla sir. They tested many looks and finally zeroed in onto the look you are going to see in the film!

It must be overwhelming to be a part of such a big project Bruce Lee.
Yes. It is a prestigious project and I can sense I am entering into the big league. I do feel pressured but again,  the happiness I feel is dominating the tension!

How was your working experience with Ram Charan?
It wouldn’t be surprising if I say Ram Charan is a brilliant dancer. I had to ask for three days of dance rehearsals just to meet his dancing level. Despite all that, he doesn’t have any ego and quite co-operative on sets.

Please tell us about your role in Bruce Lee.
I play the role of a video game designer named Ria. She is quite hyper active actually. The film is a family drama laced with a love track.

Any best moment in your life since you began acting?
I was delighted to see SRK visit and able to spend quality time with him. We spoke for nearly 30-40min and I can never forget that incident in my life and work with him for the film Simla Mirchi.

It is said that you had some action scenes as well in Bruce Lee?
I was present in one sequence. It was shot in a very experimental and novel way.

What is your opinion on the male domination in the industry?
I agree that male domination is predominant but at the same time every actor or an actress has their own space and limitation.

How do you prepare yourself to grow as an actress?
I aim for better improvement for each of my films.

You got the golden chance to work with Chiranjeevi in Bruce Lee. Did you learn anything from him?
There are many things to be learnt from a legendary actor like him but I am amazed to say he still is a student who prefers to learn constantly every day.

How do you plan your career in movies?
I don’t believe in excessive planning. I focus on the one film I have in my hand and give the best for it.

Who are your favourite heroes in Tollywood?
I really admire Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and Bunny in our industry.

Srinu Vaitla films usually have good comedy elements. Did you get to perform in such scenes in Bruce Lee?
Yes I did get a chance to act in comedy sequences. However, my character itself is alight with life and has lot of fun elements. I am really glad to have worked with senior actors in this film.

You have been working nonstop since Venkatadri Express. Is there any plan to take a well deserving break?
I really want to take a break. I’ve been working nonstop for two years and even if I get a little chance, I want to fall down and rest!

It must be quite hectic to be in shooting nonstop for many films at once!
Well yes. But I must thank Thaman’s music keeps me alert and awake thereby leaving me more energized.

Please tell us about your next projects?
I am paired opposite Allu Arjun in Sarainodu and it is a masala entertainer.

Working experience with Srinu Vaitla?
There is a great actor hidden in him. He knows the pulse of audience and makes no mistakes in bringing it out.

Any other projects outside Tollywood?
I am doing only Simla Mirchi now. Not concentrating on any other languages as I am quite contented with Telugu film industry.

Okay… thanks and wish you the best for Bruce Lee!
Thank you!
