Till recently, a big budget movie in Tollywood meant that the investment was around 50 or 60 crores. This is because many felt that the market potential to recover investment was not more than that. However, everything changed after the arrival of the magnum opus Baahubali.
The entire numbers has changed and today the Tollywood biggies are talking about higher numbers as budgets. As per the latest calculation, Tollywood is now standing at an investment potential of Rs 75 crores. In one year or two it will touch 100 crores budget without any issues.
On the other side, the medium range would reach the budget of 15 crores from the existing 8 and 9 crores bracket. So, in between there will be huge gap and this needs to be filled with a little higher range of budget. However, challenge will always be there if high stakes are put in a film so let us hope everything is done sensibly and cautiously.
