We come across films with black money backdrop where stars would fight against corruption and black money. But the reality is something quite contrary. Much to the dismay of fans, iconic Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are now listed in the Indian black money holders.
Coming to the details, few confidential documents of world’s most secretive Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca have been leaked recently and shockingly, Amitabh & Aishwarya have been exposed in this leak. This law firm aids its clients in setting up name sake offshore companies, in a way helping them evade tax. This Panama Papers leak includes the names of Amitabh & Aishwarya along with 498 other Indian doyens associated with Mossack Fonseca. While the Big B was named the director of four offshore shipping firms (set up in 1993), Aishwarya (along with her mother, father & brother) was registered as the director of Amic Partners Limited in 2005 and was later changed to shareholder status in the company that was later dissolved in 2008.
This major leak is creating tremors across the world and fans are absolutely disappointed to find their icons (Big B & Aish) in the Black money holders list. We need to wait and see the reactions of both the stars on this issue.
