Out of many younger directors who made their impact in South Indian Films, it is Cheran who occupies a special place. His films like Naa Autograph are realistic in every respect and reflect naturality. This director has the unique gift of perfect storytelling which took him to a brilliant league of classy film personalities.
Cheran happened to work with the romantic pair Sharwanand and Nithya Menen for a film Rajadhi Raja which is a dubbed version of JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai. This film was released online in Tamil without the regular theatrical release. While it got good response for the subtlety and lovely storytelling, after much delay it was released theatrically in Telugu. However, because of poor promotions and marketing the film bombed at the Box Office.
The director expressed his opinion on the failure saying that it was Sharwanand who didn’t co-operate with him during the promotions of the film. Cheran also said that this film was done when Sharwanand was in struggling phase and he was always there for the actor in trouble. But when his own film’s promotion was at stake, Sharwa didn’t respond positively!
We will have to see what Sharwa would react to such serious allegations!
