Though the film became a dud, it has turned out to be a lesson giver to other movies being made at huge budgets and period backdrops. One movie in discussion is Veeram featuring Kunal Kapoor of Rang De Basanti fame. This is directed by Jayaraj.
This movie is coming with Kerala martial arts backdrop and inspired from Shakespeare’s Macbeth. While all this sounds good, the most important thing is drama. If that is not there, the film would sink without a trace just like Mohenjo Daro. Let us wish that the required precautions are taken because thinking that all will watch big budget flicks or those with historic backdrops means it doesn’t work.
