For some reason, a new issue is brewing between writers and filmmakers. Well, the original writers of the story are not getting their credit in movies. Sometime ago, the film A…Aa was based on Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani’s novel ‘Meena’. It also came as a black and white movie by actress Vijayanirmala.

But then, the wizard of words Trivikram Srinivas didn’t mention Sulochana Rani’s name and only after many reminded the source, her name got added at a later stage. The same is happening now with the movie Sreemanthudu as a writer Sarath Chandra claims it is his own story.

The matter has gone legal and summons has been issued to the makers. At this point, it is not sure whether Sarath Chandra wrote it as the court has not given its verdict. However, the point is, why are writers not given their credit. Is it due to branding, agreement or revenue share issue? It is not sure why this is happening but let us hope truth prevails soon.
