You can consider yourself to be in hallucination if you think that what we see today in Indian media is truth being brought for the betterment of the system and the common man. The very essence and definition of media has changed because it is all about business. More than truth, it is the TRPs which matter.
Unfortunately, this trend has picked up a lot in the Telugu electronic media and till yesterday they were having a field day. However, it is being reported that all the channels have witnessed a sudden downfall in their TRP. Apparently, two issues were providing the required fodder for the media folks to blow things out of proportion.
One is the video ‘God, Sex & Truth’ from the eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma while the other is the clash between Mahesh Kathi and fans of power star Pawan Kalyan. However, yesterday both these issues have come to an end and as a result, the TRP has fallen alarmingly. Buzz is that the media folks are now searching for new topics to sensationalize them.
While their business angle is fairly understood, many are opining that the way they stretched both the issues just for TRPs is rather sad. About time we see some wisdom prevailing.
