We have often mentioned regarding the nexus between the film industry and politics but it is always about the cine folks getting into politics as an alternative career. As such, there has not been a film star who got into a public movement prior to getting into politics.
The state of Andhra Pradesh is currently going through a turmoil as the people are gearing up for a movement regarding the special status. In this regard, discussions are happening on whether any Tollywood folks are going to take an active part and bring momentum.
So far it has only been actor Sivaji who is taking full interest in this issue and then there is power star Pawan Kalyan. Of course, Pawan is now a full-time politician so it is expected but what remains to be seen is how many cine folks will come forward and fight for this genuine cause.
