The South Cinema is a combination of Telugu Film Industry, Kollywood, Sandalwood and Mollywood. In that the Kannada industry alias Sandalwood is often perceived as a sector which comes up with somewhat inferior quality movies when it comes to meaningful content, production values and visual impact.

Some also rank it as the last among all the industries down south. However, one film seems to be rewriting the whole situation and it could well be placing Sandalwood at a pedestal. We are talking about the movie ‘KGF – Kolar Gold Fields’ and this has been helmed by Prashant Neel who scored a blockbuster debut with ‘Ugramm’.

The trailer of ‘KGF’ is out and those who have seen it are saying this doesn’t look like a Kannada movie trailer. Another important point to note is, Lovely Star Yash who was quite a sensation didn’t act from four years in any other movie except ‘KGF’. But now he is coming out and it certainly looks as the time well spent. This film has taken Sandalwood to a new level.
