The first part of Shankar Shanmugam’s magnum opus ‘Robot’ stormed the Indian box-office and scripted new records everywhere. Now, the sequel to 2010’s Robot – called ‘2 Point 0’ – has set its sights on global records. Going by the massive release on 29th November, this Rajinikanth starrer is likely to rewrite all the existing stats because it’s going to have a monstrous release in 10,500 screens worldwide, and that’s bigger than Baahubali-2 which got released in 9000 screens.

This 500-Crore project is an interesting blend of VFX spectacle and director Shankar’s master storytelling. Going by the first buzz from the global cinema fans, 2Point0 is spectacular onscreen and seems to have delivered much more than the tremendous expectations. Some early viewers, who were able to catch the film in some parts of the world, reported that they were blown away with this visual stellar and are sure that the movie is going to set a new benchmark at the box-office.

All the reports from overseas are quite positive and the magic of Shankar-Rajinikanth has worked once again. The trade analysts predict 100 Crore worldwide business on the first day of release and if reviewers sound positive, there’s absolutely no-stopping for 2Point0 in the coming weeks. Also featuring Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar is lead roles, this science fiction film is slated for a wide release in Hindi belt as well.

The filmmaker, who’d simultaneously shot the film in 3D, has spent a fair amount of time in getting the visual effects accurate. Now that everyone on social media is applauding the scintillating VFX work, 3D, action packed screenplay, sound, and camera work, it looks like all the struggle of Shankar has paid off. On a whole, Shankar seems to have delivered an EPIC with his magical touch. Given that there’s no other big-budget film scheduled for coming few weeks, 2Point0 is likely to take box-office by storm. No wonder, even if we get to read the following headline – ‘2Point0 breaks Baahubali-2 record’sometime soon.
