It's become a trend in AR Murugadoss' films to portray a Bollywood actor as a baddie. The star filmmaker has recruited Vidyut Jammwal for Thuppakki and Neil Nitin Mukesh for Kaththi. Both of the films, which has Vijay in the lead, have received high appreciation from audiences.

Murugadoss has yet again opted a Bollywood actor for his next film with Superstar Rajinikanth. According to the latest reports from Kollywood, the director's new film with Rajinikanth Darbar will have 'Dhobi Ghat' actor Prateik Babbar in an antagonist role. Currently, the shooting of this film is underway in Mumbai. Reportedly, Rajinikanth will be seen in two roles in Darbar - as a policeman and social activist. 

Noted musician Anirudh Ravichander is the audio composer for Darbar and Lyca Productions is producing this high budget movie.
