When actor Prakash Raj forayed into politics and decided to contest as an independent candidate from Bangalore Central constituency, it was nationwide news. But, the award-winning faced a humiliating defeat in the results announced on Thursday. Right from his campaigning, Prakash Raj has been confident of winning as Parliament member, but he is finally left with disappointment.
Reacting to his defeat, Prakash Raj on Thursday tweeted: "A SOLID SLAP on my face as More ABUSE, TROLL, and HUMILIATION come my way. I WILL STAND MY GROUND. My RESOLVE to FIGHT for SECULAR INDIA will continue. A TOUGH JOURNEY AHEAD HAS JUST BEGUN. THANK YOU, EVERYONE, WHO WERE WITH ME IN THIS JOURNEY. JAI HIND". Prakash Raj fought a poll battle against Congress Party's Rizwan Arshad and BJP's candidate PC Mohan. Known for his boldness and straight talk, the actor has been very much against BJP and its ideology from the beginning.
He made use of several events to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. With his defeat in Bangalore, the actor is quite unhappy and totally disappointed that he's not given a chance to enter parliament.
