For actors like Sharwanand, Ram Charan and Balakrishna, it has now become a sentiment to schedule their movies for Pongal. Like every year, our actors are planning to bring their movies for 2020 Pongal, and this time, it's a long list. Star heroes like N Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, and Prabhas have targeted this season, but we'll have to wait and see how many of them will be able to join the race finally.
Superstar Mahesh Babu's next with Anil Ravipudi (Sarileru Neekavvaru) is all set for shooting soon. The makers are planning to bring it for Pongal, 2020 and an announcement also has been made in this regard. So, Mahesh Babu is most likely to entertain audiences for this Sankranthi.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, who considers Pongal a huge sentiment, may schedule his upcoming film 'Ruler' for Sankranthi 2020. The film is being directed by KS Ravi Kumar, who has the ability to wrap up the shooting part in less than 3 months. If everything goes as per plan, this film will stride into cinemas in September/October. Otherwise, the film will definitely target Pongal.
Allu Arjun also is aiming at the festival season. His next movie with Trivikram Srinivas may walk into theatres for Pongal. This successful combination is now working on a project that deals with family emotions. So, the director thinks that Sankranthi is the right time to target. Another Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej also has targeted Pongal with his next film 'Prathi Roju Pandange'.
Some rumors in the industry suggest that Saaho star Prabhas may also bring his next movie 'Jaan' in the second week of January 2020. If he misses it, the movie will walk into cinemas in summer next year. Also, Nagarjuna is planning to release his upcoming project 'Bangaraju-2' for Sankranthi, next year. Soon after the release of Manmadhudu-2, the shooting of Bangaraju-2 will begin. Since the first installment of Bangarraju, which released for Sankranthi became a huge hit, Nag is keen to target the same season again.
So, we have a good bunch of movies expected to take the box-office by a storm for Pongal next year. But, it remains to be seen how many numbers of films will finally make it to the race.
