Darbar Pre-Release Business Is Mind-Blowing!

Regardless of the talk, his films comfortably make more than 100 Cr at the box office. After three back-to-back flops, Superstar is coming to cinemas again with 'Darbar'. The mass thriller has done a humongous pre-release business, which indicates that buyers are least bothered about Rajini's previous flops. Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss, has Rajinikanth in the police role and Nayanthara as the leading lady.

Scheduled to release on 9th January, the worldwide pre-release business of Darbar stands at Rs 200 Cr. While the Hindi version was sold for Rs 17 Crores, Tamil Nadu theatrical rights fetched Rs 63 Crores. Amazon has shelled out a whopping Rs 25 Crores for digital rights and satellite rights were sold for Rs 33 Crores.

Lyca Productions sold the Telugu rights for 7.5 Cr, Karnataka rights for 7 Cr, Kerala rights for 5.5 Cr and overseas rights for 33 Cr. Divo digital media paid 5 Cr for digital audio rights. If the remuneration of Superstar is exempted, it has cost not more than 70 crores for makers. Going by the staggering pre-release numbers, trade experts believe that producer has already made a profit of 80-90 Crores. That's the true star stamina of Thalaivar Rajini!
