Had the Coronavirus lockdown not been there, the promotional activities of Pawan Kalyan's 'Vakeel Saab' would have been in full swing by now. The buzz would have started off with teasers, trailers & songs in Tollywood. But, the corona crisis has impacted Vakeel Saab like every other film that is production stage or ready for release. While some industry insiders are saying that the film will release for Pongal next year, others are saying that it may come for Dussehra. But, producer Dil Raju looks sure to bring it before Dussehra. The Telugu film producers have recently met Telangana minister for cinematography, Talasani Srinivas, to seek permission and resume film shoots. The Minister also has responded positively to their request.
On other hand, Dil Raju is planning to shoot the remaining portion of Vakeel Saab which is leftover. Except a crucial outdoor schedule, rest of it is indoor shoot and the court set in Annapurna Studios was prepared for the same. As soon as the lockdown restrictions are lifted, govt may likely give permission to resume shoots with limited crew members. Since the court scene requires more number of junior artists, Vakeel Saab team is in plans to conduct the shoot with limited people by taking all measures and maintaining social distance.
Since the film has no action episodes and songs, it is an advantage for the makers. In fact, shooting of heroine part is still pending. But, the movie is thinking to trim down flashback episode of Pawan. If they decide to truncate the flashback part, heroine part may not be required the character doesn't hold any weightage in the movie.
So, the rest of filming is expected to be over in quick schedules and if makers really want to push it for Pongal, they can plan flashback episode, songs and action sequences. However, this story does not demand all those elements and having them is neither a benefit nor a disadvantage. So, producer Dil Raju can finish off the shooting comfortably.
