Venu Udugula is one of the talented filmmakers in the Telugu film industry. With his debut film Needhi Naadhi Oke Katha, Venu turned the attention of everyone. Sree Vishnu played the lead role. Kalaipuli S Thanu wanted to remake the film in Tamil with Dhanush.

Dhanush agreed to do the project but asked Venu to direct the film. Dhanush wanted to do the film only if Venu agrees to direct. But, surprisingly, Venu is said to have declined the offer politely.

Having spent almost 3 years already on the film, the director decided to move on to Virata Parvam than spending two more years on the same subject. Thus, he missed a chance to direct Dhanush.

However, it seems to be a right decision since he has to move on and prove everyone with another hit.
