Pushpa is one of the exciting films to be made in the Tollywood film industry. For the first time in his career, Stylish Star Allu Arjun is undergoing a de-glam and a rugged look for the movie. Sukumar is the director who reunites with Allu Arjun for the third time. Earlier, they worked on Arya, Arya 2 and a short film for Independence day. The latest media reports speculate that Chiyaan Vikram is in talks for playing the lead antagonist in the film.

The film unit initially roped in Vijay Setupathi to play the lead antagonist in the film but he walked out of the project due to his prior commitments. Later, the film unit considered Bobby Simha for the negative role and there is no confirmation on his inclusion in the project. The film unit recently resumed the film's shoot. As per the reports, the makers are planning to get Vikram on board as he would add value to the project. He enjoys a following in both Telugu and Tamil languages. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.

Apart from that, there is another speculation that actor Sunil is also in consideration for one of the negative characters in the film. Sunil played a negative role in the recently released Colour Photo. He earlier played a similar grey shaded role even in Disco Raja. He is ready to play grey shades if it is for an exciting film. The film unit is yet to confirm these developments.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the leading lady in the film. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director. Mythri Movie Makers bankrolls the project.
