Thalapathy Vijay's Master is back in the news again. The film unit is ready with the final copy and wants to release it in theatres. But the ongoing reports in media speculate that the film is heading for a digital release and won't be releasing in the theatres.

Amazon Prime Video already grabbed the streaming rights of the movie but the officials at Amazon confirmed multiple times that the movie will be streamed only after a theatrical release. The film unit also confirmed a number of times that the film will not skip a release in theatres.

But, it looks like Netflix has entered the picture now. Netflix has offered a fancy deal to the producers of Master which kept them thinking. If the film unit is going to accept the deal, they will have to return the amount taken from distributors along with interest. At the same time, they will also have to terminate the streaming rights deal with Amazon Prime Video. If both the things end up smoothly, the film unit will have to acquire a No-Objection-Certificate from all the parties involved.

In the end, Sun TV and Netflix will jointly stream the movie on their respective OTT platforms. As per the buzz, the talks are initiated and most likely, the film will end up on an OTT platform for Pongal 2021.
