Nandamuri Kalyan Ram tasted a failure with his last year's release Entha Manchivadavura. After that, he didn't officially announce his next project. The reports claimed that the actor has a few projects in the pipeline and one of them is a film with director Venu Mallidi. It is now being heard that this movie is going to be a period drama.

Tentatively titled as Tughlak, this film will be a satirical drama set up in the 13th century. Apparently, there will be a lot of VFX work involved in the movie and that is the reason why the team is taking time to launch the shoot. This movie will feature Catherine Tresa as the female lead.

Some rumours also stated that there is a time-machine concept involved in this movie. More details about Tughlak will be announced soon. Kalyan Ram will bankroll the film himself under the banner of NTR Arts. Apart from this movie, he is also in talks with KV Guhan regarding a thriller.
