Actor Shraddha Srinath who made her debut with Telugu film Jersey is in the news again. The actress who is an active user of Instagram took a jibe at a Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan's wedding. Shraddha Srinath cracked a joke around Varun Dhawan getting married. The Krishna & His Leela actress revealed funnily commented if his wife will allow him to work after the wedding.

Shraddha Srinath is known for expressing sarcasm whenever there is a scope. She saw the news about Varun Dhawan's wedding as an opportunity and went vocal about how female actors are usually stereotyped. “Another good actor bites the dust. Sad that we will not see him on screen again. Obviously, his wife and in laws will not be okay with him acting with other heroines. Maybe he will switch to doing male-oriented films? But how to balance personal life and work-life ya. Tough. Will miss him. Congratulations though, Varun,” she wrote.

No surprise that her post welcomed a lot of criticism and backlash. Definitely, many did not understand that Shraddha took a jibe at patriarchy. A lot of Varun's fans expressed their anger at the actress who later had to give an explanation. Shraddha later wrote: “I took a jibe at patriarchy yesterday. I merely switched genders. And it sounded like a joke, right? It sounded absurd to you all when I said an actor will have to retire from work because he’s getting married. Why doesn’t it sound just as absurd when the same assumptions are made about an actress?” she asked.
