The second wave of coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire in India. Especially, Maharashtra is witnessing a heavy spike in COVID-19 cases. Many cricketers and celebrities are also testing positive for the virus in the last few days.

After the likes of Aamir Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor tested positive for the coronavirus, now Akshay Kumar also joined that list. Akshay took on social media to announce the news this morning. His tweet read, "I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19.

Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon!" The star hero's fans and well-wishers are sending him messages and are praying for his speedy recovery.

On the career front, Akshay will be next seen in the film Sooryavanshi. Directed by Rohit Shetty, this film features Katrina Kaif as the female lead.
