Many upcoming releases of Tollywood are getting postponed indefinitely due to the sudden surge in the COVID-19 cases across India. Already, films like Love Story, Virata Parvam, and Acharya have postponed their releases. Now, Venkatesh's Narappa has joined the list. The makers have officially announced that the film will not be hitting the screens on May 14th, as per the earlier plan.

The official note stated, "Keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience, the theatrical release of the film has been postponed." "We will bring Narappa to you just when the time is right. Until then, be safe, take care of yourself, and stay strong," it further added. Directed by Srikanth Addala, Narappa features Priyamani as the female lead.

It is an official remake of the 2019 Tamil blockbuster Asuran. Narappa is being produced jointly by Suresh Babu and Kalaipuli S Thanu. Mani Sharma is composing the music of this movie.
