Dhanush's Jagame Thandhiram is probably the biggest Tamil film that opted for a direct digital release. This gangster comedy was originally supposed to hit the screens in May last year. But the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown forced makers to opt for a direct OTT release on Netflix. The trailer of this film dropped just about a while ago. Going by the trailer, it looks like the movie traces the journey of a Tamil rookie gangster who locks horns with international gangsters in London.

Right from the beginning to the end, the trailer gives us vibes of Quinton Tarantino's films. Director Karthik Subbaraj and his team succeeded in bringing out international standards for this movie. The visuals look stunning and the background score of Santhosh Narayanan is another asset. Dhanush steals the show with his comical antics. This is a complete changeover for him after a serious film like Asuran. His one-liners are quirky and draw our attention towards the film right away.

The amalgamation of Tamil culture to the international mafia is an interesting mash-up. Jagame Thandhiram features Aishwarya Lekshmi as the heroine. Joju George and James Cosmo played other important roles in it. The film premieres on June 18th on Netflix.
