A biopic on former shuttler Pullela Gopichand was announced long back. Praveen Sattaru was announced as the director and Sudheer Babu as the lead hero. The project was announced but never went on the floors. It has been years since it got halted. Everyone is wondering whether the project is on or shelved. Finally, Sudheer Babu himself has opened up on the issue.

He said that the project is on but may take some time to get started. Speaking in a recent interview, he stated that this film will definitely remain a special project in his career. He further added that the production house which was supposed to bankroll this film backed out due to some reasons and another popular production house will be taking up the project.

However, Sudheer didn't reveal whether Praveen remains the director or not. Anyway, the film may take some more time to get started.

For the unversed, Sudheer Babu is also a badminton player and is a close friend of Gopichand. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his next film Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali.
