TN Govt announces State Film Awards

Tamizh Nadu state government declared its state film awards for the years 2009 to 2014 on 2 September, and a ceremony was held for the same on 4 September.

 

For 2009, 'Pasanga', 'Mayandi Kudumbathinar', and 'Acchamundu Acchamundu' were titled 'Best Movie,' and Karan was awarded the Best Actor. While Paadmapriya won 'Best Actress', Vasantha Balan bagged the 'Best Director'. Sundar C Babu was termed as the 'Best Music Director' for 2009.

 

For 2010, 'Mynaa', 'Kalavani', and 'Puthran' were awarded 'Best Film', and Vikram received the honor of 'Best Actor'. Amala Paul was given the award for 'Best Actress', while 'Best Director' went to Prabhu Solomon. Yuvan Shankar Raja was named the 'Best Music Director 'for that year.

 

For 2011, 'Best Movie' went to' Vaagai Sooda Vaa', 'Deiva Thirumagal' and 'Uchithanai Muharnthaal', while 'Best Actor' was bagged by Vimal. Ineya won 'Best Actress'. AL Vijay became the 'Best Director', and 'Best Music Director' was given to Harris Jayaraj.

 

For 2012, 'Vazhaku Enn 18/9', 'Saattai' and 'Dhoni' shared 'Best Film'. While 'Best Actor' went to Jiiva, 'Best Actress' is bagged by Lakshmi Menon, 'Best Director' to Balaji Sakthivel, and 'Best Music Director' to D Imman.

 

For 2013, 'Ramanujan', 'Thangameengal' and 'Pannaiyarum Padminiyum' won 'Best Film' award. 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara won the 'Best Actress' title, while Arya won 'Best Actor'. Ram bagged 'Best Director' and 'Best Music Director' went to Ramesh Vinayagam.

 

For 2014, 'Best Film' title was shared with 'Kuttram Kadithal', 'Goli Soda' and 'Nimirndhu Nil', while Siddharth received the 'Best Actor'. 'Best Actress' was won by Aishwarya Rajesh, and Raghavan received the 'Best Director'. Additionally, Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were awarded the 'Special Actor and Actress' Award.
