Film Critics Circle (NYFCC), an influential group of critics in the USA, announced various awards, where Rajamouli won the Best Director Award for the film RRR.

Ahead of the announcement of the Oscars, the film won a big award and it could boost the film in the Oscar campaigning. Directors like Jane Campion and Alfonso Cuarón Orozco earlier got the award too.

NTR and Ram Charan played the lead roles in the film RRR. DVV Danayya is the producer of the film who bankrolled the movie under the DVV Entertainments banner.
