Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and visionary filmmaker Shankar teamed up for their new film Indian 2 (Bhaarateeyudu 2). It is a sequel to the 1996 film of the same name. Currently, the makers are shooting the film in the surroundings of Chennai.

Meanwhile, one of the film's writers B. Jeyamohan revealed a few key plot points of Bharateeyudu 2. He said that Kamal will reprise the Thatha role in the second part too. He said, "Indian 2 will have the same feel as the first part. The first film was set in the pre-independence period. Indian 2 will be set in the post-independence period."

"The first film establishes the clash between Thatha and his son. The second part will feature a clash between Thatha and his father," he further added. Jeya Mohan co-wrote the film along with Shankar, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar.

Jeya Mohan said that Kamal is working very hard on the film. Apparently, he is having a liquid diet and is not eating anything when he is in Thatha's getup. If he chews anything in that getup, the prosthetic makeup will be affected. Bharateeyudu 2 features Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet in pivotal roles.
