a few months ago, it was reported that varun dhawan and samantha ruth prabhu will act in the indian version of the upcoming american series citadel. raj and dk's names came in as the directors of this amazon prime video original. now, the project has been officially announced by prime video.

the post read, "new spy in town! @varun_dvn starts filming the indian instalment of the citadel universe in january 2023. we can’t wait to see him in this new avatar! @rajndk @menonsita @d2r_films #russobrothers @agbo_films @amazonstudios." interestingly, there is no mention of samantha in this tweet.

recently, it was reported that samantha hasn't walked out of any projects due to her health condition. but no mention of her in prime video's post is igniting the rumours that she has been dropped from the series. we have to see if samantha's team gives an official confirmation about this news. until then, people will assume that she is not a part of this project anymore.
