Rebel Star Prabhas teamed up with Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin for his upcoming sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD. It is one of the most-awaited Pan-India releases of this year. Until now, there hasn't been any update about the movie's story.

Finally, Nag Ashwin opened up on its storyline. Speaking in a recent interview, Nag Ashwin said that the story of Kalki starts in the time of Mahabaratha and ends in 2898 AD. He said that as the story spans over 6000 years through various periods, they have named it Kalki 2898 AD.

The makers are currently shooting a song in Ramoji Film City. Kalki 2898 AD features Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in other pivotal characters.

Ashwini Dutt is bankrolling the project under his banner Vyjayanthi Movies. Santosh Narayanan is composing the music for it. Kalki 2898 AD is slated for a worldwide release on May 9.
