Director N. Shankar has displayed his solidarity by donating the prize money, which he received for his film ‘Jai Bolo Telangana’ (JBT) to Telangana martyrs. ‘JBT’ has won two Nandi awards, ‘Best Film on National Integration’ and Shankar bagged ‘Best Director’ award with prize money of Rupees 75 K and 30 K respectively. Shankar donated the total amount to the respective family members, whose dear ones have sacrificed their lives for Telangana. He stated that “the sacrifices of students and people of Telangana have provoked me to make ‘JBT’. The prize money should belong to the concerned families”.
Though the donated amount is small, Shankar’s spirit is highly appreciated by filmnagar sources.
