Mahesh Babu’s ‘Pokiri’ was a trend setter and from then, Mahesh never looked back. Last year Pawan Kalyan got much needed break with ‘Gabbar Singh’, it brought back Pawan’s lost glory and recently it was Jr. NTR. The Young Tiger, who had zero success over the past couple of years, scored a blockbuster hit with ‘Baadshah’. The common thing in these films is hero characterization. Their role of cop was well received by masses and the movies went to become industry hits. The ‘Khaki’ sentiment has worked for these heroes as they were quite low in their careers before.
And now it is Ram Charan’s turn. As everybody knows in his upcoming film ‘Zanjeer' (Toofan in Telugu) he will be seen as an angry young police officer. But in Charan’s case it is quite contrary. He has been riding high with back to back hits. Will ‘Khaki’ sentiment work for Charan or not one has to wait and watch.
